The deployment of Lean beyond the factory floor is a subject of interest to many businesses. GrowthPhases ® Alliance is sponsoring another Symposium opportunity this Fall. The focus of the Symposium will be the deployment of Lean in service businesses and functions like sales, marketing, product development, strategy, human resources, M&A and accounting. In fact, our co-sponsor, Kendall Institute, is part of a College which focuses on service business education as their core business. If you are interested or if some of your team members are interested, hold your calendars for the evening of October 14th and all day on October 15th, 2008.
The Symposium will be entitled Lean Beyond the Factory Floor. Speakers will cover the basics of Lean, Lean Supply Chain (from Purchasing to the Factory Floor), Lean Accounting, Lean Marketing & Strategy (applying the principles of Hoshin Kanri), Lean M&A, Lean Organization Management, Lean Sales and Lean outside of manufacturing (with a focus on service businesses). Orry Fiume who wrote the Shingo Prize Award winning book “Real Numbers: Management Accounting in a Lean Organization” is set to be one of our featured speakers along with other former executive team members of the Wiremold Company. Orry Fiume served as CFO of the Wiremold Company. Wiremold is featured in Chapter 7 of Jim Womack’s book entitled Lean Thinking. We will also have a panel of leaders from service businesses speaking at lunch.
Many of our clients are struggling with how to apply lean successfully across the enterprise and not just on the factory floor. If you have interest in the concept to be presented at our Symposium, please let us know by sending an email to Contact@GrowthPhases.com. You can start the registration process by sending an email as noted above or you can go directly to our co-sponsor’s website at: www.kendall-institute.com to register. Basic Registration will be $250.
